Plants and seating both depend on how much sun each spot gets.
How
- On a sunny day, check the yard in the morning, at midday and in the afternoon
- Shade in your sketch where shadows fall each time
- Count hours of direct sun for each area
- Full sun is usually 6 hours or more; part sun 3 to 6; shade less than 3
Seasons
Shadows are longer in spring and fall than in summer, and trees leaf out. Check again in another season if you can.
